Workshop: Poultice Making with Plants
Instructor: Jennifer Tucker, an herbalist, and teacher, with local assistance from Roberta Miller
Date: June 27
Time: 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Another way to access the healing properties of our plant friends is through external application. Our skin is one of our largest absorption organs and our plant friends offer us a way to work productively with them through external absorption for our health.
This workshop will be a practical hands-on experience of making poultices for a variety of common problems such as assisting bone mending, many forms of injuries, bee stings and joint pain. Learn preparation methods with these available plants: comfrey, cabbage, castor oil, onion, potato, and tomato.
All materials will be provided, and registration is required and limited to 12 participants. All attendees will receive a free copy of Jennifer's beautifully illustrated book, Evelyn’s Ways as a reference guide.
This workshop is part of the Edible Watertown Initiative of Watertown Public Arts and Culture. Support for this workshop was provided by a grant from MAPC to Watertown Public Arts and Culture.
