Black Box Play

Audition Requests open October 30, 6 pm

 

TL;DR (may contain spoilers): Benedick and Beatrice don't love each other but then they do. Claudio and Hero love each other but then they don't but then they do again. Everyone gets married. WCT’s Black Box Play Series provides student performers the opportunity to collaborate with a director and a small cast to develop a fully-staged production for the public in the Dinah Lane Theater. Please note that this is an audition based program. Audition scheduling will begin on October 30. Registration will open to participants if they are cast in and accept a role in the production.

 

Please prepare a 1-2 minute classical monologue. You will also be asked to do a cold reading from the script. To reserve an audition slot, email production.wct@mosesianarts.org with your production resume and (optional) headshot or photo. 

 

An audition workshop will be offered on October 26 with Actors’ Shakespeare Project Artistic Director, Christopher V. Edwards. This workshop is not required but highly recommended.

Tuesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 21, 6:30-9:00 PM

 

Rehearsals (not all participants will be required at every rehearsal):

Tuesday/Thursday 6:30 PM-9:00 PM, December 3-January 23 

(No Rehearsals December 20-January 1)

Saturdays 2:00 PM-5:00 PM, January 4, 11

 

Snow Dates (if needed):

Sundays 10:00 AM-1:00 pm, January 5, 12

 

Tech Rehearsals (attendance is required for all cast): 

January 27-30, 2024 5:00-9:00 PM

 

Performances:

Friday, January 31, 7:00 PM

Sunday, February 2, 2:00 PM
