Introduction to Printmaking

This class will encompass relief, monotype, and monoprinting printmaking processes. Students will learn techniques such as monotypes and monoprints using found objects, handmade stencils, matboard, paper, and Plexiglas. The instructor will introduce students to carving and printing techniques for wood, linoleum, and Sintra. In addition, students will explore multi-block relief, reductive relief techniques and fabric printing. Printing techniques including hand printing, rainbow rolls, registration for multiple layers, stencils, and jigsaw matrices will be discussed. Open to all experience levels!
