World class saxophonist Bill Pierce and bassist Greg Ryan join acclaimed drummer (and Berklee Vice President) Ron Savage to count us in to the 14th season of the Black Box Jazz series in style.
Bill Pierce has performed and recorded with numerous jazz legends including Max Roach, Freddie Hubbard, Tony Williams, Art Farmer, Hank Jones, Billy Higgins, and Art Blakey. His discography spans decades, both under his own name and as a collaborator with many jazz greats.
Greg Ryan’s big, supportive sound and swinging style have established him as an in-demand sideman on both acoustic and electric bass.
In addition to his role at Berklee, Ron Savage is a co-founder of the Cambridge Jazz Festival, and director of the Ron Savage Music Academy, a non-profit Saturday music school dedicated to providing inner city youth with affordable music lessons and instruments.
